Heirloom Seedling Share – Summer Edition 2011

Following up from the success of our Winter Heirloom Seedling Share, we are pleased to announce that our Summer Seedlings are merrily growing and will be ready on the 14th December.

Sourcing seeds from local companies specialising in open-pollinated heirloom seed varieties, and working in association with Alfa Variegata Nurseries (Klapmuts) we bring to you a summer Heirloom Seedling Share.

We’ve carefully selected the tastiest of summer’s bounty, which are all very easy to grow. You don’t even need a vegetable patch for this share, as these seedlings can be grown in window boxes or grow-bags.

With each share you buy, you will receive THREE 6-pack seedling trays containing the following heirloom vegetables:

• 1 x Heirloom Tomato 6-pack (Containing a mix from the following varieties: Black Cherry, Tigerella & Principe Borghese)
• 1 x Heirloom Chilli 6-pack (Containing a mix from Purple Maui, Fish Peppers, Malawian Peppadews)
• 1 x Heirloom Lettuce 6-pack (Containing a mix of Merveille des quatres saisons, Parris Island Cos & Mizuna)

Each 6-pack tray contains 6 seedlings, so you will receive 18 seedlings in total. All shares to be collected together from The Starlings Market in Claremont on 14th December (4-6pm).

Each share (3 seedling trays) costs R105.  You may order as many shares as you like (total shares available limited to 30) and you can add extra tomato and lettuce 6-packs to your order (we’ve had excellent germination rates!).
